What we do
Liz’s List Online offers you a small fresh selection of good-value coins at fixed prices. We also sell Celtic books, Celtic artefacts, Celtic coinplax, Celto-Boars, Celtic cards, Celtic binders, Celtic vouchers. We also have a few Roman or other coins, depending what our metdets find. These are listed under ‘Other Coins’. The main thing, in our view, is how we do it....
How we do it
“In Norfolk we do different”. We’re in Norwich, Norfolk, land of the Iceni – a people apart who didn’t follow the crowd. We recognise that online shopping can be cold and impersonal, even frustrating at times. So Liz’s List Online welcomes you warmly and we try to keep things personal, on first-name terms. “I run my shop as much for pleasure as for profit”, says Celtic Liz. “It means I get to meet Celtic coin folk from all over the world. For me that’s fun.”
Most dealers and auctioneers don’t sell low-grade or low-cost Celtic coins. They don’t bother with such coins because they can be hard to identify and bring little or no profit. Liz does, Liz bothers. She encourages beginners and she values the business of students and pensioners as highly as anyone else’s. So you’ll always be able to find some really cheap ‘bargain’ coins at Liz’s List Online. These are listed by tribe and also by metal (gold, silver or bronze). And, unlike many on the internet, we describe our coins accurately, reference them, grade them and estimate their rarity. We also provide a good quality print of the listing so you have the information for your records, or to accompany it if purchased as a gift. It also comes with a money back guarantee of authenticity. Nobody else does that. Why not? Because the internet is flooded with Celtic fakes and many traders can’t tell the difference. Or, if they can, they may turn a blind eye and take your money.

Accuracy: Little is known of iron age rulers, mints and moneyers. So all our dates, attributions and descriptions are hypothetical, not factual.
Grading: Iron age flans rarely bear the whole die image. For example, an unworn coin graded ‘Good VF’ may lack part of the design or legend.
Metals: All Celtic coins are alloys, e.g. gold coins are a variable mix of gold, silver and copper.
Rarity is based on Celtic Coin Index: RRRR excessively rare 1-5, RRR extremely rare 6-15, RR very rare 16-30, R rare 31-50, S scarce 51-100. Remember, most coin finds are unreported, so these figures are only a rough guide to rarity.
Authenticity: All our coins are guaranteed genuine. In the unlikely event of one proving to be a modern fake, return it to us and we’ll refund you the full price you paid us.
Provenances: All findspots, where known, are stated in the catalogue.
Celtic Coin Index: Most of our coins come from metal detectorists and are reported to the Celtic Coin Index, Institute of Archaeology, 36 Beaumont Street, Oxford OX1 2PG or the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Export licences are needed for some coins when sending overseas and can take 4 weeks to obtain. Their purpose is to curb the export of national treasures.
